Barbara F. Wintermote 1930 - 2011 Lawrence

Barbara Wintermote

Private graveside inurnment services for Barbara F. Wintermote, 80, of Lawrence, will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. She died on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Brandon Woods at Alvamar, Lawrence.

She was born September 3, 1930 in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of William T. and Nina (Outhier) Fletcher.
Mrs. Wintermote was a homemaker.

She was a 1951 graduate with a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Kansas. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Social Sorority, and a member of the Kansas City Branch of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence.

She was married to Richard D. “Dick” Wintermote on December 28, 1950, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include one daughter, Terry W. Preston, of Lawrence; a son, Mark F. Wintermote, of Glendale, AZ; four grandchildren, Matthew F. Preston, Katherine A. Preston, Ben F. Wintermote and Zachary C. Wintermote; and a great-grandson, Jackson F. Wintermote.

The family suggests memorials in her name to the KU Alumni Association or to the KU Endowment Association and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence,120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
