She is survived by one son, two daughters and their spouses, Leeman (Sue) Cox of Lansing, Kathleen (Eugene) Esckelson of Caro and Christine (Lee) Teschendorf of Caro; five grandchildren, Sonja, Laura, Christopher, Matthew and Kristen; 7 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; one sister, Ardis (Marsh) Matthes of Saginaw; one brother, E.J. Ramage of Sandusky; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys LaPla and Althea McKnight; and one brother Melvin Ramage.

She was a faithful member of the Caro Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Caro V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4164.


Beatrice Cox, age 83, of Caro passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility.  She was born on October 20, 1927 in Flint to the late James and Marion (Hubbard) Ramage. 

The former Beatrice Ramage married Otis R. Cox in Novi.  He preceded her in death on September 7, 2005.  She had been employed as a Deputy Sheriff with the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department, working in the jail lobby and as a matron until her retirement. She was a faithful member of the Caro Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Caro V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4164.  She was a water color artist, enjoyed crafts, gardening, and her family.     

She is survived by one son, two daughters and their spouses, Leeman (Sue) Cox of Lansing, Kathleen (Eugene) Esckelson of Caro and Christine (Lee) Teschendorf of Caro; five grandchildren, Sonja, Laura, Christopher, Matthew and Kristen; 7 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; one sister, Ardis (Marsh) Matthes of Saginaw; one brother, E.J. The funeral service will be held at the Caro Church of the Nazarene on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul McNett officiating.     

Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery.  

Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to the Beatrice Cox family discretionary fund, c/o Christine Teschendorf.
