Born in East Lansing, Michigan, he entered the Navy in 1944 and served aboard the USS Sargent Bay (CVE 83). He graduated from UCLA and taught History and English at Crosier Junior High School in Inglewood for over 30 years. He was an avid sailor; he and Patricia founded the Sailing Club at the Mid-Valley YMCA in Van Nuys and taught weekly sailing classes at Marina Del Rey.  Wife, Patricia preceded him in death in 1981 and in 1986 he married Anita Schilling.
Ralph, Keith and the entire Wintermute Family wish to thank each of you for attending Gerald Wintermute’s Celebration of Life.
